I don't think everybody should be automatically penalised for leaving a group in the middle of an activity, be it PvP or PvE.

To start with, they may be leaving simply because it's one of those groups which you can't stand to be with -- the kind that throw insults around like candy, can't work together, etc. I wouldn't blame someone for leaving such a group in any activity.

Secondly there could be a good reason for it. For instance, they could have just received news that a friend or family member has just been admitted to hospital, and they have to leave right away. Everybody would understand that. Or perhaps they suddenly realise they are late for an appointment. Real life always takes priority over gaming life, and penalising people for taking care of RL affairs simply isn't on.

Simply put, you might not be aware of the circumstances which lead to people quitting a party, so you can't blanket-punish people for doing so. Until you can invent an 'online jerk detector', that is.

Good ideas guys, thxs for your input

It would be funny but im too annoyed, the first time i try hall of heroes battles since posting my thread, a person leaves almost straight away, SECOND time i try it a person leaves in the first battle , ok third time i try a person leaves in the first battle its beyond a joke. I dont believe it fourth time in a row, a guy leaves in the first battle, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Tried for a fifth time, yep you guessed it someone left at start of first battle. Surely this isnt possible.

Heh get used to it, it wont be the last time for sure LOL.

As for those who dont understand the rating system I came up with it wouldnt affect those that leave because they got booted the code is only inabled by the action of leaving the group not by disconect (through the "Yes leave the group" buttons click event). As for having to leave for "Real" life issues all you have to do is complete 5 missions to remove the mark against you and you have 2 freebies (unless you have 3 crisises B4 you can complete 5 missions it wont affect you).

As for being a group that you just cant stand to be with you can either leave and complete 5 missions with another, or stay another 10 minutes until they are killed (if it lasts that long, those disruptive grps dont tend to last).

Lastly yeah their is ways around my system (nothing is full proof. But should banks not lock the vaults at night LOL). They can still leave but if they pull the plug they will have to re-establish connection and re-log back in, soon most people will relize its not worth the time to just quit. Most idiots leave B4 the Rifts in HoH because the group doesnt seem to be working out, but in a PUG sometimes it takes a couple of times working with new teams to build up some chemistry (I generally see vast improvement from the Rifts to the 1st PvP arena).

When people don't say anything and leave, it just makes people angry. Apologizing beforehand, compensates for it, somewhat.

Well, that's mostly for me, personally. I'm pretty forgiving.
Well Ive noticed that alot of times they yell "F---ing nOObs" B4 they leave LOL.

First of all... i'm sorry, i must be lucky, because ive only had a person leave once, and they told me before they had to go, we just happened to just win the hoh... so it kinda sucked not being able to hold it again (Him being one of the monks)

Try taking your time putting together a group, people that shout alot... dont get them, people that aren't patient... dont get them...

On the converse it would be nice to let the leader boot people after a misson has started. I mean you have all at least once had that guy that just walks along and doesn't fight. Or ignores everyone saying don't attack this monster or run ahead of the leader cuase we need to follow these things for the bonus and wreck getting the bonus for everyone else. I've had some late game bonus missons screwed over by pople like this that either don't listen or they already had it and didn't want to waste time with the bonus even though when creating the group it was announced we would be doing bonus and main or just a bonus run.

to let them just mooch a ride thru and get credit to me just sucks and it isn't fair to the rest of us to ahve to start over just to deny them. allowing the leader to boot people in misson or put them up for a vote to be booted in misson would be nice

[QUOTE=Sting]Yeah people are so dumb that they join a group knowing they have to leave in 15-30 minutes, then they SHOULD be punished especially if they cant complete 5 meesley missions to erase their ignorance. And if they are kids who ARE NOT suposed to be playing at that time then they should be punished. Why people are so interested in defending someones fun when that person doesnt care about the other people in thier grp is beyond me.

This post cracked me up. The only people who can promise they will not be interupted during a computer gaming session are people who are pretty much responsibility-free. That is a VERY small segment of the population. If you have any sort of family that you care about and are involved with, you are going to deal with interuptions no matter what your age.

I do agree that one should announce they are leaving and apologize. And I like the idea of a henchie sub for those who leave. I had to leave a mission once and I felt terrible; I would have felt better about it if a henchie was going to help out my group.
